For so long we made do with bad produce. Bland
apples. Sad-looking strawberries. Tomatoes bred
for transport, not taste. Quantity and size
reigned while quality and flavor suffered. We
made do with what was given to us. Fruit was
reduced to a healthy side dish at best, a
commodity at worst. Oishii believes fruit
deserves better. That people deserve better.
